Abstract
The McDaniel Slough Wetland Restoration Project restored tidal flow and fish passage to 280 acres of former salt marsh wetlands and enhanced associated wildlife habitat. The project removed barriers to anadromous fish, restored tidal influence, deepened historic slough channels, partially removed failing or obsolete levees, and constructed levees to protect adjacent property.. This project improved connectivity by connecting more than 1,300 acres of local, state and federally protected lands along Humboldt Bay. This document summarizes the Coastal Conservancy's Staff Recommendation and authorization to provide funding for the implementation of the project.
