This geodatabase brings together restoration and mitigation project data for wetlands and eelgrass in and around Humboldt Bay, alongside referential layers, such as historic salt marsh extent, to support future restoration planning.
The geodatabase links to supporting documentation for each project, many of which are stored in this collection. We've also included reports and presentations relevant to the unique challenges of ecological restoration in Humboldt Bay.
Project data comes from two main sources: California Coastal Commission records tied to Coastal Development Permits (CDPs), and the Low Tide Archive, a collection of Humboldt Bay restoration and ecology documents. All Low Tide Archive materials referenced in this database are now digitized and available through Humboldt Digital Commons.
Note: this is not a complete record of every restoration effort in Humboldt Bay. If you are aware of a tidal or wetland restoration project not shown here, please contact Humboldt Waterkeeper at info@humboldtwaterkeeper.org.
