Abstract
The dredging for the construction of a coastal dependent industrial yard by Wright-Schucart Harbor Co. will result in the loss of 0.43 acres of eelgrass along the western shoreline of the City of Eureka. As mitigation, the applicants have agreed to a request from the California Coastal Commission staff that at least 0.64 acres of eelgrass be restored within Humboldt Bay. This plan outlines the transplanting of eelgrass from the industrial assembly yard site to nearby candidate recipient sites in Humboldt Bay to achieve that mitigation. The contents of this proposal are meant to satisfy the information requirements of the Coastal Commission prior to development permit hearings on the project.
