Abstract
In 2009, Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) removed an idle fuel oil pipeline and gravel access roads near the Humboldt Bay Power Plant. This disturbed eelgrass beds, unvegetated mudflats, coastal salt marshes and bluff scrub habitat in and around Humboldt Bay. The Conceptual Habitat Mitigation, Restoration, and Monitoring Plan and the Eelgrass Protection Plan replaced portions of the disturbed area in December of 2009. This report documents the implementation monitoring of the eelgrass, salt marsh, and bluff scrub restoration that took place in 2009 to 2010. As such, this document reports the “as-built” conditions of the restored areas and will serve as the baseline against which progress toward the established performance standards will be measured.
