Abstract
The sociology of women is currently an expanding discipline,. Production of substantive works on the status of women is epidemic. Although there exists a multiplicity of good short articles drawing on sociological theory, especially theory developed in the field of race relations, there seems a paucity of more extensive theoretical analyses. This paper is an attempt to partially bridge that gap.
