Episode Description

G: ...and we will have our regular weekly chat with Julia Butterfly, now in day about 163 of her tree sit.

G: ...and now I have got Julia Butterfly on the line, Hi Julia, good afternoon.

J: Good afternoon.

G: So, I hear you have got some exciting news for us

J: Yeah, well, there is a whole lot of things going on right now in the legislature and Governor Wilson decided to slip into propriations in the Headwaters deal in the budget in an effort to railroad this thing through, And, unfortunately for the people, the problem is that an integral part of this deal is that the habitat conservation plan. Which has not even been released for viewing to Governmental agencies, let alone the public. And so, we have really been putting pressure, a whole lot of different groups, signed onto a letter, forming a coalition against allowin g this appropriation to go through. And today it was released that assembly people put um, a stop to the funding going to through in the budget and instead put the appropriations in with the bill proposed by Byron Sher(SP?) and what that does is, you’ll have to excuse me I am out of breath, I have been flying around on the tree..
