Description

This is a transcript of an oral history interview with Jonathan Hedlund, who is a Cal Poly Humboldt alumnus. He graduated in spring 2024, the semester the protest took place. He explains how his graduation was disrupted and how he and his family felt disappointed, as he was a first-generation college graduate. He was unsettled by the police presence and the atmosphere that it created, while also not understanding what the protesters wished to achieve. He mainly utilized the school radio KHSU and The Lumberjack as sources of information alongside the emails the school sent out providing updates.
