Episode Description
G: ... But first it is time to check in with Julia Butterfly, hello Julia, now in day 246 of her tree sit. We have Michael Evenson also on the line, but Julia first, I have got to ask you, you just got an honor from a national magazine. Can you tell us a little bit about that?
J: Well, it totally took me by surprise. I had no clue that it was happening, until I got a call yesterday from some people telling me, hey did you know that you were nominated for this recognition in Good Housekeeping? I had no clue. What I think is amazing about it, is the fact that people are now beginning to understand that people that take a stand aren’t the radical people. It is what is happening to our earth and what is happing to each other that’s so radical. People are just having to rise to the occasion. I think it is fantastic that something that is about, I think out of all of the media coverage that this action has gotten this far, this one might be considered the most main stream. It just proves that this is not about radical environmentalism, it is about people who care about the earth and each other. Trying, to stand up against this blatant destruction against it.
G: So, Good Housekeeping, I mean you could be their potential woman of the year?
