Abstract
The history of intellectual debate has long included a basic conflict among those who seek to understand the way that mankind knows, or tries to gain knowledge. Knowing has typically been addressed from one of two perspectives; either analytically or intuitively. Analytic, outer knowing is based on the idea that a reasonable and logical examination of the variables will eventually produce a clear and total picture of the knowledge being presented or investigated. Intuitive, inner knowing has a different perspective, and seeks to know a thing sympathetically, understanding its nature by insight.
