Abstract
The purpose of this investigation is to complete research on dual earner families. The focus is to ascertain if a relationship may be found between marital adjustment and the agreement on division of household tasks within a dual earner marriage. This study asks several important questions. First, in dual earner families, is marital adjustment related to sharing household responsibilities, or to agreement on task division (i.e. equitability vs. complementary agreement)? Second, is there a difference between stated attitudes and experienced behaviors in the division of household tasks, and might this contribute to marital adjustment (i.e. ideal vs. real)? Hopefully, any results will assist dual earner couples with effective stress reduction.
