Abstract
The Rou Dalagurr Food Sovereignty Lab & Traditional Ecological Knowledges Institute at Cal Poly Humboldt is the client for this Engr205 Introduction to Design project. The objective is to design and build an interactive display that presents information on the endangered sunflower sea star and serves as a movable touch tank for locally sourced seaweed. The literature review covers the client, aesthetics, traditional ecological knowledge, cleaning intervals, safety, sea star size, and habitat, and it compares four alternatives: an interactive floor tank, a tank with a lid, a stacked tank, and a panoramic step-in tank.
