Abstract

This report was developed in response to the California Coastal Commission’s request to analyze PG&E’s proposed ISFSI site on Buhne Hill at Humboldt Bay for stability ‘in perpetuity.’ It look at scenarios up to 100,000 years in the future to model potential changes for two geologic hazards: (1) Surface faulting hazard, related to the tectonic movement of the Little Salmon fault zone, and (2) Coastal erosion hazard, related to projected sea level rise and Pacific storm variability in an environment of global warming and tectonic uplift of Buhne Hill.
