Abstract
Resources for teen girls in the Humboldt County area appear to be very limited. Both adolescent and teen years may be viewed as a "window of opportunity" in which teens can engage in skill-building experiences, and safe, healthy risk-taking, particularly in a respectful and encouraging environment. In Humboldt County, many teen girls, their parents, and adults who work with teen girls have expressed a perception that there are not enough resources of support for the teen girls in the region. The purpose of this project is to evaluate the present resources, and conduct a needs assessment via a secondary data analysis in order to create a curriculum for North Star Quest (NSQ) Spring Break Camp that will attempt to meet this unfulfilled need.
