Alannah is an English major undergrad, poet, and book designer at Cal Poly Humboldt in her senior year. She developed her love of book layout and design with The Press at Cal Poly Humboldt and contributed her knowledge and skills to multiple publications, including Humboldt Journal of Social Relations and Toyon. Booger! was inspired by her son.

Dr. Sara Sterner, Cal Poly Humboldt
Dr. Sterner is an assistant professor in the School of Education and serves as the Liberal Studies Elementary Education Program Leader. She is a teacher educator and qualitative researcher using post-intentional phenomenology, arts-based research, and narrative inquiry practices. Her research interests include preservice teacher development, the creation, promotion and love of inclusive children’s and adolescent literature, and disrupting white supremacy in education through anti-bias pedagogies and white teacher identity studies.
