Briefly an HSU student several decades ago, Deborah Kearns was called back to San Francisco due to family needs. Still, she never recovered from the physical beauty of this area, and finally moved to Arcata two years ago, where she was happy to find she didn't have to give up the vibrant poetry community of the Bay Area because it was right here all the time.
