Abstract
The goal of the Commission’s Environmental Justice Policy is to provide guidance and clarity for Commissioners, staff, and the public on how the Commission will implement its recently enacted environmental justice authority including how it will consider environmental justice in coastal development permits. The adoption and implementation of this Policy is intended to integrate the principles of environmental justice, equality, and social equity into all aspects of the Commission’s program and operations, and to ensure public confidence in the Commission’s mission, process, and commitment to coastal equity.
