Abstract
Greenhouse gases become trapped in our atmosphere and contribute the greenhouse effect, which causes an imbalance in the natural equilibrium heat exchange and results in climate change. The majority of the greenhouse gases emitted on a daily basis are from anthropogenic, or human caused, sources. Reducing electricity consumption at the industrial scale will result in the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and climate change globally. Market interventions should continue to be developed and implemented to encourage business investments in energy efficiency. More research needs to be directed at determining successful interventions to address investments at the small community business scale. An interview tool has been developed and presented in this paper to support data collection for developing appropriate market interventions that are site, sector, and community specific.
