Abstract
This project summarizes the historical perspectives on childhood in Colonial America. The historiography includes discussions of home life, school life, discipline, manners, religious thought, clothing, and games, all examined within the context of a geographical comparison. The major theme is that children's behavior varied by geography in the colonial era. Religious beliefs, economics and immigration patterns shaped the culture of the region. This project includes a lesson plan that is focused on children's activities in the colonial era including daily diary entries.
