Abstract
There are many differing populations of students in University whose success depends on the level of support and resources available on campus. The life of a student does not stop and end during holiday breaks and support may be needed during holidays to ensure retention and graduation of students. Assessing the support of northern California university students located in a rural and geographically isolated campus during holiday breaks is needed in order to properly provide future assistance and programs to the student community. A northern California public university, located in a rural and isolated area, has several offices that work with specific student groups. The research study aimed to collect information on the perceptions of how these particular offices could support students during the holiday breaks at the University. Gathering information solely from staff who work with specific student populations who may or may not be more susceptible to vulnerability was not enough. Information was also gathered through students themselves through interviews, a focus group and questionnaires.
