Abstract

The purpose of this project is to examine the experiences of past community partners that have supervised Master of Social Work Student projects from the years 2013-2015. Master of social work students complete master projects in lieu of completing a thesis in order to meet the requirements for graduate studies. Since the start of the projects only informal feedback has been provided. The purpose of this project is to gather solid information in order to help a Northern California University's Social Work department better understand the role that the community projects play in helping these organizations that choose to partner with students. This project will also evaluate the significance of the projects from the lens of the supervising community partners and the effectiveness the projects had within their organization to learn about expected and unexpected outcomes. In order to gather this information, an online survey was disseminated to past community partners via email. Findings about the experiences of past community partners were analyzed and disseminated to a Northern California University Social Work department as well as potential participants whether they participated in the survey or not.
