I am a locally born and raised Journalist in Humboldt County, and I enjoy reporting on politics, environmental, social justice and healthcare issues locally. I went to UC Santa Cruz and returned to raise my son near his Humboldt roots. I currently work as a freelance journalist and news photographer in Humboldt County for a variety of outlets, including the Redheaded Blackbelt as well as KEET-13 at PBS.

A Photo of St Joseph Hospital during the COVID-19 Delta surge of the summer of 2021 when local hospital emergency rooms and all other departments in health care were overwhelmed with severely ill patients, and local staff were at their breaking point.
