Comments

First Little River Valley School located left side of road as you enter Crannell Road. It was about one fourth mile from 101 in a low area that now floods. Wm. Balke started young so they'd have enough students. School registry records at Trinidad Union School tell us that in 1899-1900 Emily House was the teacher. 1900-1901 Connie M. Wildes taught. Nov. 13, 1899 J.B. Brown, County Superintendent visited the school. Mr. Balke remembers a Mrs. Axe as teacher also, 1907-1908. it was a one room school somewhat like Freshwater lagoon.
