Little River Redwood Company, Crannell. A group of men in front of a yarder. Yarders were moved by rail to areas where timber had been cut. Short spurs (tracks) were placed in the best position to a tree or pole with "rigging" (block, tackle and lines). High rigging (or yarded) to the landing to be loaded on the train. (The rig-up crew had prepared the rigging and made the layout. Rig-up crew included high climber, hook tender (foreman), head rigger. Four to eight men to handle and tighten guy lines, etc. They left before other crew arrived.) Yarder crew included an engineer, fireman, hook tender, head rigger, three chocker setters, one chaser, whistle punk. Another crew is used to load, and includes head loader,
